Through nationally based partners, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance supports community-based organisations around the world to increase the quality and effectiveness of HIV interventions. They publish a series of Good Practice Guides covering such subjects as Drug Use and Sexual & Reproductive Health. Each of the Guides includes around eight Standards, to which programmes are encouraged to work towards.

The current paper-based Standards are somewhat text-heavy and this was considered unsuitable for some user groups. So a series of short, interactive e-learning modules was required to engage the target users groups with the basic principles of each Standard.

We have taken a rapid e-learning development approach, using PowerPoint, Articulate Presenter and Adobe Flash as the authoring tools. We draft a storyboard for each module directly in PowerPoint, based on on our understanding of the Standard. The client quickly feeds back with any major scope and content changes and we iterate versions towards a final draft. The whole process takes around 4 weeks for each module, but several modules can be produced in parallel.

Technology
Microsoft PowerPoint, Articulate Presenter, Adobe Flash

The materials are not publicly available at present, but a demonstration can be arranged on request.
