Evaluating technology options to reduce greenhouse gas emission

IEAGHG had two websites which were in need of updating. We proposed merging the two existing websites into one new site, with a clear navigation system and consistently presented content. The process has considerably reduced the Client’s website management load and made finding information substantially easier for their users and members.

Part of the remit was to merge, de-duplicate, filter and rewrite the content in a consistent voice, which we undertook with the help of an external copywriter. The site was developed using the Joomla Open Source CMS, to enable the client to update the content themselves. Use has been made of Joomla community extensions to integrate a site membership system with access privileges for different Groups and Networks, a Forum and other advanced features.
