Scope - Children In The Picture

Website to promote the inclusion of disabled children in early year’s picture books.

In The Picture is a Scope programme to encourage publishers, illustrators and writers to embrace diversity - so that disabled children are included alongside others in picture books for young readers.

The website provides an images bank of demonstration pieces for inspiration and reference as well as several animated stories featuring illustrations of disabled children.

The Scope team returned to Interactive Solutions following a number of other successful web and CD-ROM projects to support SCOPE programmes. Among these was “Right from the Start”, a CD-ROM promoting good practice in the disclosure of disability to parents of disabled children – our very first contract, dating back to 1995.
