Why Joomla?

Joomla is a very widely used, open-source Content Management System (CMS), which enables you to update your own website via the web. It has a wide range of features like forums, calendars, blogs, access control and many more. We have standardised on Joomla, as our CMS of choice and have several major websites running successfully on this platform.

Easy to use

Our clients find Joomla easy to use, yet powerful enough to cover most requirements. Typically, we provide a half-day training session followed by 4 or 5 hours of hand-holding support over the phone. Thereafter, occasional support may be required for more advanced features.

Powerful access control

Joomla is ideal for community websites where members need to log-in to access content. Users can register to set up a personal account. The site administrator can then approve (or reject) registrations and assign permissions to allow access to certain content only. New content can be easily categorised to ensure it appears only to authorised users. Example site: www.ieaghg.org

Our Joomla sites comply with HTML and CSS standards to ensure maximum browser compatibility and accessibility.

Legacy proof

Legacy issues are a common problem with bespoke or unusual CMS systems. Not so with Joomla. If you needed to change developers, you should find it relatively easy to find a competent Joomla developer to take over maintenace and support of your site from the global development community. Transferring Joomla sites between hosting providers is also straightforward.

Cost effective

Our costs to design, configure and set-up a Joomla powered website are typically in the region £3,000 to £5,000 + VAT. Large, content rich sites could cost more if you'd like us to add the content, but please call and we'll happily provide a quote.
