New vocational qualifications at GCSE level, require pupils to relate their learning to real applications in the workplace. However, Health & Safety legislation and commercial pressures make it increasingly difficult to arrange workplace visits for large groups of pupils. Go2Work addresses this problem, by creating in-depth, multimedia profiles of businesses which pupils can study in the classroom.
Each company visit is comprised of a collection of video clips, images, text and worksheets, presented in a web page format. Pupils can explore the materials independently using worksheets, or would be equally useful projected onto a whiteboard as part of a class discussion.
In addition to the web page format, each company visit is available in DVD Video format. This version includes DVD quality video and can be used on a home DVD player/TV.
This project is currently under development . The website will be available online soon at www.go2work.net. Please contact us if you would like access to the demonstration site.
