e-learning for engineering and advanced manufacturing.

The STEAM project aims to address problems of loss of traditional skills in an ageing work force, by exploring whether new e-learning techniques can be used to capture and transfer such skills. We are currently developing 3 modules in the textile sector, focussing on skills like weaving, loom turning and pattern cutting. A blend of video, animation, text and interactive activities are used in a web-compatible format for delivery on DVD-Rom and later via the Internet.
