Revision tips and exam support by text message for pupil's in Oldham.

txtM8 built on the success of an earlier SMS project with Knowsley LEA, called BuzzTXT, which broadcast revision tips directly to pupils mobile phones. In txtM8, revision and exam tips and "strange but true" facts were broadcast to pupils in Oldham. Mobile numbers were collected in class and pupils could also subscribe from their mobile phones. The incoming messages were free to pupils. Pupils were also able to text in questions for Learning Mentors, if they needed any help or support during the stressful period before and during exams. The entire service was operated from our web-based SMS Messaging Centre.
